SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW), Total Group (n = 110)

During the 2016-17 school year, 110 students at McHenry Community High School in Illinois participated in the ZAPS program to prepare for the SAT. Their SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) scores averaged 529.9 (out of 800 possible) before ZAPS training. After the ZAPS program, the scores of 80 students increased, 6 students' scores remained the same, and 24 students' scores decreased. On average, their SAT EBRW scores improved by 31.2 points to an average of 561.1. 

SAT EBRW Higher-Performing Group (n = 69)

Sixty-nine (69) McHenry Community High School juniors scored 500 or better on the SAT EBRW Pre-Test. After participating in ZAPS, the scores of 50 students increased, six students' scores remained the same, and 13 students' scores decreased. Their SAT EBRW scores improved by an average of 28.3 points.

SAT EBRW Lower-Performing Group (n = 41)

Forty-one (41) McHenry Community High School juniors scored below 500 on the SAT EBRW Pre-Test. After participating in ZAPS, the scores of 30 students increased, 0 students' scores remained the same, and 11 students' scores decreased. Their SAT EBRW scores improved by an average of 36.1 points.
